When I first opened The Love Weekends, my plan was actually quite simple:
Start in Europe.
Keep it small.
Learn as I go.
Take one step at a time.
After all, this is still a very small business. It’s me, my ideas, my Anchor Pieces — and a lot of learning happening behind the scenes.
But then, almost immediately, something happened that I hadn’t really planned for.
I started receiving messages from people outside Europe asking if they could order, too.
Especially from the United States.
And I remember thinking:
Okay… apparently we’re doing this. 😂
So much for starting small.
I opened international shipping much earlier than I had originally planned.
And there is something incredibly special about imagining one of my Anchor Pieces leaving my little world here in Germany and making its way to someone thousands of kilometers away.
At the same time, going international has taught me something else very quickly:
Shipping across the world is expensive.
I’m currently working on ways to make international shipping as reasonable as possible, and I’m already covering part of those costs myself.
Because the last thing I want is for someone to find an Anchor Piece that means something to them — only to leave it behind because getting it across the ocean costs almost as much as the piece itself.
I’m learning.
I’m adjusting.
And I’m figuring things out as The Love Weekends grows.
Maybe that’s what I love most about this stage.
I don’t know exactly how far this little idea will travel yet.
I just know that it has already started travelling further than I expected.
And that feels pretty special. 🤍
